            About York.

Having lived in York all my life words cannot describe this beautiful city. Each season gives the city a new feel.

Spring – brings the colour of yellow to York when the walls of the city are peppered with daffodils, the walk around the walls is given a fresh feel with the blooms of spring and the knowledge that summer is not far away.

Summer – the city comes alive with tourist and school trips, the museums and gardens of York are enough to keep the generations together with something to offer each age group whether it’s seeing the Yorvik site or visiting the Railway museum. York will keep you busy and many find one day not long enough.

Autumn – the colours of the city change and the trees are golden. Tradition is part of the York charisma and the Viking fair comes alive in the city at this time of year. The site of a modern Viking walking the streets is not to be missed. The long boats on the river give this city and unequaled charm.

Winter – The cold crisp air of the city gives a sharp feel for the tourist but the locals are aware that living in a vale protects York from the more serious weather of winter. The Minster is breathtaking in the winter months with its sharp contrast against the city sky. The streets are alight with colour once Christmas is upon us and shopping for presents is vast with 3 shopping centers on the outskirts plus the main town of York giving plenty of choice.

With ALL the above this is a city with a lot to offer. Designed with a vast network of railway and roads for commuting anywhere in the world York is an ideal location for the busy lifestyle of today. Employment is high in the city and crime is low this is a city that people enjoy living in.
